Export Achievement Certificate Background:

The Export Achievement Certificate (EAC) was created in 2001 to recognize small and medium-sized enterprises that have successfully entered the international marketplace for the first time or that have successfully entered a new market. The CS award program is designed to showcase the important role that exporting plays in our national economy, to highlight the contributions made by exporters to their local communities and to recognize new exporters. By increasing the prominence and visibility of exporters in their communities, the program encourages new exporters to continue exporting and strengthens partnerships.

Blasters Ready Jet, Inc., is a 30-year old Tampa-based water-blasting firm, that builds specialized robots for a variety of hydro-demolition, industrial cleaning and highway repair applications. For this relatively new-to-export company, the core focus of sales has been directed toward emerging markets especially those of the Middle East where the company, in conjunction with Ramtech Overseas, Inc. DBA Bentozal Services, Inc. introduced a revolutionary technology to clean the inside of ready mix concrete delivery trucks.

Blasters Ready Jet, Inc. state-of-the-art product line includes the Ready Jet™ robotic concrete removal system. This relatively new technology improves productivity, saves countless hours of work and protects the safety of concrete truck cleaning operators.

In the past two years, using their expertise, and perseverance, the company aggressively pursued challenging markets in the Middle East, Latin America and Central Europe. For example, in the Middle East the company formed an alliance with Osama Ramadan, President of Ramtech Overseas, Inc., a Tampa based export management and trading company with deep knowledge and expertise of Middle East markets and valuable contacts. Together with James Shedden, Business Development Manager the two companies have made substantial sales in Egypt, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates with negotiations underway in Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Mr. Shedden also relied on the assistance of George Martinez, Director of the Tampa Bay U.S. Export Assistance Center of the U.S. Department of Commerce to open new markets. However, most of all, the company's 100% commitment to achieving success, is the main reason the firm exported $3,600,000 to more than seven (7) countries in the past two years. For 2010, the company expects to almost double its export sales to almost $5 million. Foreign sales represent 50% of total company sales and because of it 15 jobs depend on the company's extraordinary international sales success.
